About Us

History

Colorado Data Mail was founded in 1981 by Don Bacon and his two sons, Todd and Doug.  CDM was originally established as a division of the family business based in Flint MI, with another branch in Ann Arbor.  CDM was spun off in 1988, following Don’s retirement, and Todd has continued to serve the direct-marketing community in Denver ever since. Today, the Michigan company operates as TGI Direct.

CDM began in a 10,000 sq ft facility in the northeast part of Denver.  In 1985, it moved to its current site, a 15,000 sq ft building just off the central highway intersection of I-25 and 6th Avenue.  The move was precipitated by a major fulfillment contract with The Gates Rubber Company, located just a couple miles away.

The focus of the company has remained the same: direct-mail marketing, specializing in mailing lists, postal regulations, mailing services, and the finest in customer service.

Business Philosophy

Since our inception in 1981, we have learned many things that help to make our clients’ mailing projects successful.  As a result, we have developed these ten tenets that form our business philosophy.

We promise to:

  1. Make a really positive difference in our clients’ workdays.
  2. Be responsive to our clients’ needs in a timely way.
  3. Be a trusted resource for our clients.
  4. Provide solutions for our clients that are efficient and cost-effective.
  5. Provide first-rate service on each and every project.
  6. Focus on all the details, both large and small.
  7. Be truthful and fair in our business dealings.
  8. Have extensive and thorough quality control processes.
  9. Be accountable in every way.
  10. Expect excellence from ourselves.

A Note from the President of CDM

Colorado Data Mail has been providing quality data processing and mailing services to a wide variety of Rocky Mountain region businesses, nonprofits, and governmental entities since I founded the business back in 1981.

Over the years, we’ve learned many things.  To be not just survivors but leaders, we’ve had to.  We are in an industry that seems very easy from the outside looking in.  After all, how hard can it be to sort a list by zip codes, or put an address on a postcard, or stuff an envelope?  And yet, there are scores of ways in which projects can derail, and the derailment is usually due to an inattention to detail.

We promise to bring a sharp focus to detail so that your mailing projects can be the success that they need to be.  That’s our commitment to you.

Todd Bacon,
President – Colorado Data Mail
